When Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck famously reignited their love affair and remarried in 2022, the newlyweds initially planned to inhabit Jennifer’s 12,800 square-foot French-style house in Bel Air, Dirt reports. Instead, the couple are on the hunt for a new love nest and have set a $42.5 million asking price for the home — $14.5 million more than Jennifer paid actress Sela Ward for it in 2016.

Originally designed by architect Samuel Marx, the house was built in 1940 but since then has been reimagined with French twist. Hidden away behind a gated driveway, on an 8-acre parcel just minutes from the Bel Air Hotel, the creamy stucco and stone structure has nine bedrooms and 13 baths, and opens throughout to expansive terraces.
Other standout features include a double-height living room with a fireplace, piano, wet bar and dramatic wrought-iron staircase.
Steel windows lend a contemporary look to the living room. The rustic, French farmhouse wood ceiling gets a hit of glam from the glitzy chandelier.
JLo is a huge fan of a golden glow, and she gets it via a gilded wall in the formal dining area.
The gourmet kitchen takes inspiration from French farmhouse styles. The stone fireplace, distressed apothecary-style counter bearing the name of a French patisserie, black enamel stove and hutch inject Euro flavor.
In the adjoining den, natural materials and a muted palette make the space feel serene.
The breakfast nook is surrounded by steel windows so the banquette is bathed in morning light at breakfast, while a rustic timber beam accents the built-in screen in the stone wall.
In this bathroom, a mosaic wall and standalone tub set on a wood pedestal are spa-like elements. The bathroom opens to a lounge area on the patio, perfect for a cup of coffee after morning primping.
The upstairs principal bedroom wing accommodates a fireplace, sitting room, and dual dressing rooms and baths.
A stone patio is set with sofas and a firetable for lounging. Lushly landscaped gardens have mature trees and shrubbery.
For a dancer like JLo, an infinity-edge pool for laps and spa is de rigeur.
A private lake with its own storybook cabana and sandy beach studded with palm trees is a tropical escape just steps from the main house.
