10 Trends That Won’t Die
They started as hot design trends. Now they’re classic elements that will give your rooms timeless style. Do you have any? It’s not too late!
1. Classic Fireplaces
You can install architectural antique mantels mounted on new marble hearths, or you can buy reproductions. A vintage mantel lends instant glamor to a gas insert.
2. Washstands
A marble washstand is a classic choice with both chrome or brass fittings. Back in vogue, it’s airy and elegant and especially great in a powder room.
3. Canopy Beds
The allure of the side drapes is romantic and the iron frame gives instant architectural detail to a plain bedroom. Do it all white, or be bold with interesting prints and layered bedding.
4. Off Black Doors, Trims and Shutters
This classic choice works both on your exterior and interior rooms. It focuses and defines like the eyebrows on your face.
5. Clawfoot Tubs
Still in style. Find a vintage tub and paint the exterior, or buy a new one and choose all white, chrome, brass or back claws.
6. Black & White Tile Floors
You can do them in stone, ceramic tile or classic linoleum. Shiny or matte and on the straight or in a diamond pattern, classic and timeless for a front hall. Doing them in color is the newest trend!
7. Woven Furniture
Rattan or wicker in both natural and man made materials is still a classic choice for indoors and out. Faded grey, off white and black are new, while natural wovens are the classic choice.
8. Animal Prints
Faux animal skins in fabric for drapes and upholstery, wallpaper, and rugs and runners are huge. The look is witty and confident.
