This Italian-made tub came from Portugal where it had been stored outside, exposed to the elements, giving the marble a lovely patina. The bathroom’s spare design was intentional. “So few elements makes it more impactful,” says designer and homeowner John Baker.

The original clawfoot tub was one of the reasons Emma Reddington, House & Home’s West Coast editor, fell in love with her Toronto home. “As someone who grew up on the West Coast in newer homes, I’d only ever seen this kind of look in London or New York.” (Look to salvage yards like Legacy Vintage in Cobourg, ON, for a similar, authentic find!)

This spacious freestanding tub replaced a built-in jacuzzi, instantly opening up the space and allowing decorative elements and clean marble tile in a variety of formats to shine. “We went with neutrals and natural materials to keep it calming and coordinate with the rest of the house,” says designer Shauna Walton of the serene palette. “Less is more when creating timeless, restful spaces.”
