Former Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria and her husband, media mogul José Bastón, are saying goodbye to their colorful Beverly Hills home with an asking price of $22.8 million, according to Dirt.com . Set on a winding private lane in Benedict Canyon, the contemporary mansion contains eight bedrooms and 9 bathrooms across 11,000 square feet. Scroll down for a look inside!
A pared down, almost minimalist rendition of a grand Spanish Colonial villa, the two-storey structure was freshly remodelled by Eva and José, who planted trees and creeping vines to soften the exterior.
A cherry-red door signals the couple’s approach to unexpected design. The villa has undergone a colorful transformation which shows off the couple’s impressive contemporary art collection. A large polka dot Damien Hirst piece can be seen in the double-height foyer.
The heart-shaped Damien Hirst painting in the dining room was given to Eva when she was pregnant.
A Taschen library displays books on open shelving. “My husband is very particular about every detail and he does a contemporary style that is functional and easy. It’s not super modern with chairs you can’t sit in and sharp edges,” says Eva.
This sunny breakfast area opens to the backyard. The couple have contemporary tastes, and love to decorate with vibrant shades of red, canary yellow, mint and cobalt blue.
A lounge area with curvy blue sofas is adjacent to a hallway with a wall that can be completely opened to the backyard.
A large sculpture adds an electric shot of color to this hallway, with a telescopic glass wall that can be completely tucked away for an indoor/outdoor feel.
The home is full of warm, organic textures and luxe finishes, brilliant pops of color, and modern art. Overscale art and books create a layered, kaleidoscopic effect in this room.
A poolside cabana with a bar has a telescopic wall of glass so it can be completely opened up. The huge deck has panoramic cross-canyon mountain views.
The backyard’s myriad resort-like amenities include an azure mosaic-tiled pool and spa. A professional-grade gym is housed in an L-shaped glass pavilion.
Various seating areas in the garden provides many areas to relax when the sun sets.
Set below and out of sight of the house, the tennis court has been covered in artificial turf and contains several children’s play structures, a fenced paddle ball court and a tented cabana with a beverage station.
